The Paul Blank Invitational is currently accepting donations on behalf of this year's charitable organization, ASIRT - The Association for Safe International Road Travel. To date, the PBI has raised more than $40,000 for charities such as ASIRT, Nechama (The Jewish Response to Disaster), and many others. ASIRT was founded in 1995 by beloved JDS Lower School Hebrew teacher Rochelle Sobel, following her son Aron's death in a bus crash in Turkey. ASIRT is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that improves the personal safety of travelers on the roads. ASIRT does this by: Providing tools to minimize road risks and inform travel decisions, working to ensure that road safety is a policy priority of decision makers, and Utilizing the resources of U.S. and global institutions to improve road safety worldwide.
Donations of all sizes are graciously accepted, and donations of at least $150 come with the option to sponsor a trophy for the PBI, with the sponsor's name and choice of trophy title (for example, "Best Hands," which would go to the receiver who made the best catch in the game) engraved on the front. Photos of previous trophies can be found here.
